Chocolope–the happy sativa with the silly sounding name. When I close my eyes, I picture an antelope covered in chocolate. Or made of chocolate! Forgive me. I’m getting the munchies. A DNA Genetic’s hybrid of Chocolate Thai and Cannalope Haze, Chocolope makes for a provocative sativa hybrid–no matter what you picture when you hear the name.
The buds were very light and fluffy and, when squeezed, were pillowy soft. There weren’t many hairs on the frosty, pale green surface, and aethetically, it is a pretty boring strain. The expected chocolate taste isn’t there. Instead, some find an earthiness, like hazelnut or coffee bean. I found my sample to be bitter like black liquorish. The soft breakdown of these buds made them easy to roll and begged to be thrown in a joint or a blunt.
A hybrid of two sativa dominant strains, Chocolope is productive and motivating. And like the hint of coffee in its taste, it seems almost caffeine like. Don’t dismiss the Haze in its genetics, though, because at times I found myself stoney in the head and eyes. I always find these dreamy Haze effects to add creativity to their trademark daytime rush.
