#5. Terra Espresso Beans
It is hard to argue against the idea of cannabis and coffee, and I often sit down with a latte when enjoying my favorite edibles. So I guess it was just natural for someone to find a way to combine the two. Coming in at #5 on our edibles countdown, these Terra Espresso Beans from Kiva Confections are perfect for on the run. Tossed into a computer bag, they blend a stoney euphoria with quick energy all day long.
#4. Trikom Treats Blueberry Lemon Loaf
I ate many different types of edibles this year, but few were as honestly tasty as this Blueberry Lemon Loaf from Trikom Treats. Difficult to find at times in Santa Ana, I always polished one off the day I would find it. Those lucky or unfortunate enough to have a lower tolerance would have to chop this treat into several servings, but mine never outlasted a single sitting with a cup of coffee and a good read.
#3. Miss Mary Jane’s Edibles Lemon Cream Cake Pop
A relatively new player in the edibles market, after years of making unmedicated treats, Miss Mary Jane’s Edibles is positioning themselves to be one of Orange County’s largest cannabis bakeshops. Again, judging this list on much more than just potency, which this edible doesn’t lack at nearly 70 mg of active cannabinoids, it is the tastiness of this edible that put it at #3. The only real dilemma I faced was whether to include the chocolate-caramel or the lemon cream flavor for the list. Miss Mary Jane’s Edibles also takes home the distinction of being the only edible on the list I requested more of after the reviewing process was over, because I simply couldn’t get enough.
#2. 530 Edibles Famous S’Mores Bar
Normally, I’d think putting the word famous in your product name to be pretty pretentious. But if you’ve ever had one of these unbelievable creations from 530 edibles, you know they aren’t boasting. They are just stating god’s honest truth. Don’t think they are famous? Just wait. They will be.
#1. Madame Munchie Medicated Macarons
A late entry this year on our review, Madame Munchie completely shook up our top 5 with their medicated macarons. When it came to the categories by which we judged each entry, Madame Munchie was the complete package, including their packaging. The simple and understated black box gives no hint of the wildly colorful pastries inside. And with flavors ranging from citrus a l’amande to PB&J, you won’t get bored with this edible anytime soon. Keep an eye on Madame Munchie. Voted #1 edible at the 2014 San Francisco Cannabis Cup, they are sure to take Orange County by storm in the coming year.
