5.Blueberry Lemon from Cannadabs: When it’s all said and done, what sets quality extracts apart from the pack is flavor. And that’s where Cannadabs’ Blueberry Lemon shines through. Combining the profiles of popular Blueberry and Lemon strains, both the taste and the high are a complex balance of influences that creates a delightful sensory experience.
4.Honey B Nectar from Hungry Monkey Co.: I serendipitously met Hungry Monkey Co. at a Weed 4 Warriors event last spring, giving me a chance to review their HT Cannabis Cup winning Honey B nectar. As hung up on shimmering shatters as I am, I cannot deny the ease and flavor that came from working with this extract. Knocking several of last year’s winning companies off the list, Hungry Monkey kept their Cup winning form when they produced this run.
3.Spliffin’ Tangie: Does a vape pen really belong among the top extracts of the year? It does when it is Tangie from Spliffin’. Clocking in with well over 70% THC and as pure as any shatter, the few precious days I spent reviewing this vape cartridge were some of the happiest of the year. While I would dab this oil if I could, Spliffin’ has conveniently made it so that I can take it everywhere and vape it anywhere. Points to them for that, and a well deserved third place on our list.
2.SFV OG from Foundation Extracts: The most beautiful picture I’ve ever taken of an extract was our cover picture for Foundation Extract’s SFV OG. Natural sunlight poured through this translucent shatter to give a long golden shadow. But it’s not pretty pictures that places this extract in the silver medal. Foundation Extracts manifests an ideal OG high in this SFV cut. Look for potent and lingering smells in any room in which you dab, as flavorful terps are the name of the game with this extract.
1.Jilly OG from Moxie Extracts: In all honesty, the top spot should go to Moxie’s unbelieveable Goji. A strain I donated for more times than I care to count. But I never stopped to review it fully, or even photograph it outside a handful of Instagram posts. That said, Jilly OG is a natural replacement for extract of the year. A somewhat rare Jilly run worked its way into our hands at the Highfi event earlier this year when we stopped by the Moxie booth. Perfect as always, Jilly OG was an almost iridescent yellow, handled like a dream when breaking off dabs, and exploded into flavorful vapor when it hit the nail. I could have closed my eyes and chosen any Moxie run at random for the top spot, but Jilly OG was our favorite that we featured and handily earns number its number one.
