We’ve discussed in the past how excited we get here at the OC Weed Review when we can trace a strain’s genetics back to the original landraces, and that’s exactly what we find with Sweet Tooth. A mix of dense Afghani and Nepali indicas and a bright Hawaiian sativa. This 80% indica dominant behemoth has been popular for over a decade. Starting the millennium a three-peat Cannabis Cup winner in ‘00,’01, and ‘02, Barney’s Farm still offers Sweet Tooth to growers seeking the original genetics.
Right out of the jar, the first impression is of its incredibly sweet fruit scent. There are strong notes of mango and sweet citrus, with hints of berry and maybe a bit of flowery tropical nectar. Sweet Tooth is one of those super sticky sweet strains that seems almost sugar coated. Our sample was made up of several fluffy but dense nuggets, featuring deep orange hairs and generous trichomes.
Sweet Tooth’s indica dominant characteristics are most present in the high. Best saved for the evening or at least once the day’s responsibility is done, it is strongest against chronic pain and insomnia, which can too often come together. Comfortingly euphoric without feeling narcotic, don’t overlook its usefulness for a night in watching Netflix or reading. Heady and introspective, Sweet Tooth is best paired with something that makes you think… but not necessarily move. Leaving you happy, relaxed, and pain free, Sweet Tooth is the accent you’ve been needing for your day’s end.
This and other great strains are available from Hand n Hand Patient Care in Santa Ana.
