On March 3rd, the cannabis women (and men) of Orange County will converge on Irvine for the monthly OC Women Grow networking event. Cannabis professionals of all levels are invited to join Women Grow at the Weedmaps headquarters this Thursday at 8 pm for a female-centric networking event that celebrates the role of women in the cannabis industry. Bring plenty of business cards and be ready to impress because you never know which connection will launch your business or career to next level.
Women Grow events are about more than just networking, though, and each month a keynote speaker seeks to educate OC cannabis insiders on a variety of important topics. This month Dr. Bonni Goldstein will be discussing the role of cannabis in the medical treatment of children. With almost a decade of experience successfully evaluating both children and adults for the use of medical marijuana, Dr. Goldstein will discuss how cannabis can be used to treat children for a range of ailments, including autism, cancer, and epilepsy. She is currently the Medical Director of Canna-Centers where she shares her expertise on the endocannabinoid system with patients to help them treat serious and chronic medical conditions.
Women Grow are excited to present Dr. Goldstein at this month’s networking event. Quoting OC Chapter Vice Chair Barbie Sommars, “So many say, ‘Save the Children from Cannabis’; while I say, ‘Save the Children with Cannabis’.” And with so many mothers involved in Women Grow, it is a chorus sure to be heard throughout the night. More and more families are turning to cannabis to treat a wide range of symptoms in their children as the medical benefits of the various cannabinoids become better understood.
Founded in 2014, Women Grow is a cannabis industry networking organization with national reach through a series of local chapters. Seeing rapid growth due to a demand for women to have access to the ever expanding cannabis industry, Women Grow now boasts over 35 chapters. Conducting monthly coordinated networking events, Women Grow welcomes women entrepreneurs from across the industry, from growers to edibles manufacturers to dispensary owners, as well as from the many support businesses that keep the cannabis industry growing.
