Shades of Green Edibles Subscription Box Review

Shades of Green Edibles Subscription Box Review

In the style of other monthly subscription boxes, like Birchbox or Graze, Shades of Green is a monthly curated edibles box that includes a hand-picked collection of the best edibles on the market, including some new and old friends of the OC Weed Review.

Shades-of-Green-4

The box itself has an awesome design aesthetic and is of a high quality like the ones used by luxury subscription services, making the unboxing of this collection an experience all its own.  Accented with matching tissue paper and confetti crinkles, the box is absolutely stuffed with respected edible brands.

Herbal Chef Mustard and Ketchup:  We had the opportunity to feature Chris, the Herbal Chef, last fall, and increasingly find we encounter him or his edibles at top industry events, including the Seed Series, where both Chris and the OC Weed Review won our opening round of pitches.  Included in this month’s Shades of Green box are his zesty 25 mg ketchup and 50 mg mustard.

Auntie Dolores Savory Pretzels: An old soul when it comes to edibles, Auntie Dolores has been offering medicated treats since before we began reviewing and continues to shake things up with their expanded line of savory snacks.  Clocking in at 120 mg of THC, these pretzels contain potency to spare.

Fourtwen-Cookies-SOG

Fourtwen Cookies: A delightful play on the edibles concept, these vanilla flavored Fourtwen Cookies far outpace the taste of traditional fortune cookies, and the cannabis and Shades of Green box themed “fortunes” are a fun touch.

Terra Blueberry Bites: What can be said about Kiva’s chocolate covered blueberries that we haven’t said before?  Plenty, I’m sure.  Our choice as Edible of the Year for 2015, these are one of the most delicious things we’ve eaten, medicated or otherwise, in the past year.

Jambo Cookie Dough Truffles: On a healthier note, these 50 mg edibles are gluten free and contain no refined sugar.  A past High Times cup winner, this truffle is paleo and stocked with superfoods and all natural ingredients — including cashews and almonds, honey, coconut, and raisins.  The edible you take with you on a long hike, a morning run, or for the long days at the office, they are surprisingly sweet, proving edibles don’t need to be bad for you to taste good.

House of Jane Revive Green Tea: Already being prepared for their own full feature on the Review, House of Jane includes their delicious 80 mg Green Tea in the Shades of Green box to show that infused edibles can be potables instead.

Shades of Green Edibles Subscription Box Review

My apopheniac mind is endlessly looking for patterns and themes.  And I can see the November Shades of Green box being used for a picnic or for a mountain top lunch mid-hike.  Just add some sandwiches and some friends, and let this Shades of Green box provide the infused snacks and drinks.  Or you can horde the goodies for yourself, partitioning out each of the delicious edibles over time.  With almost 550 mg of THC total in the products included, most beginning patients will get weeks worth of relief or more.
